Thyroid madness?: Hi. That's not a term we endocrinologists use in the US. My guess is it would refer to disinhibition in a floridly hyperthyroid patient. But that's just a guess, since it's not a term I've ever heard. Hyperthyroidism could exacerbate schizophrenia, which I see you have. Please get a referral to an endocrinologist; she/he will know exactly how to treat your thyroid disease. Good luck!

If there is defect in tpo gene, the child can have congenital hypothyroidism. There may be tpo antibody seen in blood test in case of auto-immune destruction of the thyroid gland. In either case, thyroid hormone supplementation is the main treatment. Talk to the endocrinologist in detail.

Low TSH usually means that you are hyperthyroid.  Hi TSH usually means that you are hypothyroid.  The level of thyroid hormone in the blood regulates the release of TSH via a negative feedback loop.

If you have a thyroid adenoma, you should get your thyroid blood test done to make sure the thyroid is still functioning normally.  A biopsy can also be done to rule out cancer process in the growth.
