About 25grams: 25 grams if you eat a good fiber cereal in morning you will get about 5 grams.  Just a good healthy diet with fda recommended fruits and vegetables is sufficient for most would not spend a lot of money on supplements without good diet changes first.

soluble fiber. will adding powder soluble fiber to cereal reduce the sugar the body will absorb? can i add it almost everything i eat? drinks, soups, yogurt, even fruit? the one i use has no taste. what is the daily intake of soluble fiber?

: Powdered fiber is used as a bulk forming laxative.  In theory you might experience early satiety, but it will not decrease your caloric intake.  There’s no limit to how much you can take as long as you have enough water intake for the fiber to pass through your intestines

No.: If you're not having any symptoms such as constipation, hard stools or gas, you aren't getting too much fiber.  Most of us get too little fiber.  Since fiber isn't digestible by humans, it won't have any other physiological adverse effect.  There is some evidence that eating foods high in fiber (as opposed to taking fiber supplements) MAY lower the risk of colon cancer.

Fiber recommendations.: It is recommended that both children and adults need at least 20 to 30 g of fiber per day for good digestive health. Most americans actually only get about 15 g per day. Natural sources are the best.

how do you slowly increase fiber intake? last time i took a cup of psyillum powder daily, it didn't seem to make me go to the bathroom, it took laxatives to make me go, was i taking too much? it softened it, but didn't make me go more than usual?

Overdose?: With most or all psyllium products (e.g. Metamucil), that's a huge overdose. Usually 1-2 teaspoons 1-3 times daily. See a doctor for in-person evaluation and advice.

i'm constipated w/ 3 bms per week regardless of water/fiber intake. when i take magnesium 500mg bms are daily. what is the problem if mg solves this?

Constipation: If this constipation is a significant change from your usual bowel pattern,and especially if you have associated abdominal discomfort or blood in your stools, there would be cause for concern. However three normal bm's a week may be normal for you. Taking magnesium is a simple way to increase your intestinal motility. Consult a gastroenterologist if you still have concerns,however.

Fiber: There are many foods high in fiber-cereals, vegetables, fruit. You find a list by Googling. It's best to get your fiber from your diet. A tsp of psyllium is is fine. Soft stool is a benefit even if you don't need it.

: Foods with inadequate fluids or excessive caffeine or alcohol will cause your symptoms. Drink 80-100 ounces of caffeine free/alcohol free fluid daily, more if you exercise.

Soluble fiber: Generally not! Soluble fiber, found in nuts, seeds, beans, lentils and peas, absorbs water and helps stool pass more smoothly. Fiber, both insoluble and soluble, will generally help to form more regular bowel patterns.

For the vast majority of humans, HFLC foods to include a significant amount of fresh raw vegetables (variety of lettuces, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.) is healthy. The marketing of fiber supplements a result of selling people highly processed LFHC foods which are low fiber, drive obesity, constipation &amp; many health problems; creating market for other "stuff"
