It depends on the: underlying cause.  If you have portal hypertension related to chronic liver disease, you may become jaundiced and develop ascites, and have significant muscle wasting.  But enlarged liver and spleen by themselves will not be terribly physically apparent.

Enlarged organs: There is a normal liver enlargement during fetal life. However, if both the liver and spleen are enlarged, this is not usually normal. It can be caused by a viral infection in the fetus. Another cause is fetal anemia which is sometimes caused by antibodies from mom affecting the baby's red blood cells or an abnormal hemoglobin in the baby's red blood cells.

: I wouldn't consider the information comparable. Examining the stained tissues under various levels of magnification give much more/different information than scans. All must be considered in context of why a study is done to begin with. Discuss this with the treating doc.

ABSOLUTELY: Very often this is a minor viral illness/infection , something like mononucleosis.  Rarely is it something serious at your age if you're in good health otherwise. If your doctor thought it was more serious, they'd likely get you into the office immediately to go over things. Since they're not too concerned from what you say here, I wouldn't get too excited. Relax, wait for your appointment.

galbladder surgery a month ago, now feeling bruised on left side. extremely tender to touch. i do have an enlarged liver and spleen. what could it be?

Post surgery care: Your surgeon will want to see you, and you should check in. Liver and gallbladder are on the right side, however some patients feel the pain/pressure on the left. There are several possibilities, fluid collection and bile leak need to be ruled out. Okay to ask about ultrasound or nuclear tech hida to check this out.
