Yes : An abnormality of the SI joint such as an inflammatory condition, for example can cause a "sciatica".  This is because the L5 nerve, which forms part of the sciatic nerve, runs right over the SI joint.  Piriformis syndrome is another example of a condition that is not spine related but can cause sciatica.  A detailed exam can usually destinguish the cause.

Aneurysm unlikely: An aneurysm would be a very unlikely cause of low back pain, especially at your age. The internet may be referring to an abdominal aortic aneurysm, which is unheard of in healthy young people. The most common cause of such pain, especially at your age, is muscle spasm and strain. But if worried, a medical exam is always warranted.

i had lower back problems with 3 and 4 disk with buldge.  received a epidural steroid shot still getting some slight pain should i get another shot?

Yes repeat ESI: If you got better with the first epidural steroid injection (ESI), and if you have some pain left over, repeating the ESI is a good idea. If you did not get getter with the first ESI, then it will be unlikely you will get better with repeat injections. You should remember that doctors only do 3 injections in 6 months to 12 months. Therefore, try not to wast these injections if you do not need them

i have lower disk problems for about ten years.i worked tues and when i woke up wed. i had pain in my hips, lower back, and legs. it is now thurs. and i have used a heat pad with no change. what else can i do?

I : I would recommend rest, physical therapy (mckenzie exercises - please see my facebook page)  and non steroid anti-inflammatory (NSAID) medication (please check with your doctor before starting them).  If this does not help you should see your primary care doctor and/or spine specialist.  Good luck!

Causes of sciatica: There are causes for sciatica besides disc problems. Hypertrophied muscle or spasm can push on the sciatic nerve causing pain to radiate down leg. The muscle can be in the lower back or pelvis. Since it appears that there is no serious structural problem, then physical therapy is the best way to get muscles and ligaments to relax and stretch and reduce pressure on sciatic nerve.

: A neurologist would be best to answer whether a C5 disk pressing on a nerve root could cause such a localized throat discomfort. Certainly neck pain and discomfort in the shoulder,arm &amp; hands are common  Perhaps the throat symptom is of muscular origin.

good day, i have had lower back pain for years and recently my neck started giving me problems. my left hand/arm is partially numb and my left leg is starting. mri show bulging disks and nerver irritation however neurosurgeon gave me clonazepam????

Spine pain /abn MRI: Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine  - which can relax muscles., For severe pain/spasm  Valium/ diazepam is sometimes given . But  more information is needed like the degree of bulge/location..  Would also consider EMG/NCS that can tell if and how severe  nerve function is affected which would correlate with  "numbness" . Discuss PT(physical  therapy) / traction. F/u/w/ neurology
