Yes: It is quite normal for the skin to be hypersensitive after casting.  If there is pain then the fracture may not be healed.

Paronychia: You can try putting a topical antibiotic ointment on it, like polysporin, (bacitracin and polymyxin) twice a day for a few days.  If the swelling, tenderness increases or if it has pus in it, then you should probably be seen by the doctor for oral antibiotics or drainage.

my nail came off and the nail bed is soft and tender. i applied neosporin and have it wrapped in gauze. will the nail bed eventually get hard?

Nail grows: The nail will eventually grow back, but until it does keep protecting the uncovered area with a tape or bandaid.

Yes: It is not unusual to have pain for 8-12 weeks and then discomfort for a few more weeks. The bone takes time to heal then mature.

swelling at nailfold: By your description, it may be a digital mucous cyst. They are commonly in the area you describe, painless.  You don't need to treat unless it is bothersome.  Treatment would be biopsy and cauterizing the base, but they are notorious for recurring.

Toe Pain: Several possibilities come to mind.  The easiest approach would be to see your podiatrist for a thorough evaluation, foot xrays and focused reccs.

It is possible that you have a nail injury or some lesion beneath the nail causing your discomfort. Even a bonespur on the phalanx beneath the nail is possible.

See your doctor: There are several causes for redness and pain under the thumbnail. There can be infection or injury, and sometimes cysts or growths can occur under the nail. You should see your doctor for an exam and diagnosis. Good luck.

: It sounds like a paraonchyia,Soak it in epsom salt bath 3 times a day. You may need antiobiotics.
