As a result you get high sugars which can damage the body. HbA1c or A1c=hemoglobin A1c in older terms=A way of estimating your blood sugar for approx. the last 3 mths if we were taking it every sec. GLP-1 agonist=DM med, helps body use own insulin better to lower sugar

Diet: Modification is important in diabetics. No concentrated sweets to avoid rises in bs. Also i tell people eat 6-8 small meals a day, to avoid rises and valleys and avoid hypoglycemia. The medicines work even when sugar is low, it is up to us to prevent the drop. There are medicines that work mainly when bs is high only but are weaker. Discuss diet with doctor and nutritionist.
