Carrying extra weigh aggravates the issue as part of the enlargement is fat.Most will resolve slowly as other hormonal changes kick in over about  a year. If the process is unchanged after 2-3 yrs ; you've made an effort to lose any extra weight, it is time to discuss it with a surgeon. No meds will fix it

No: Male breast enlargement in healthy teen guys is usually normal (from hormonal changes in puberty) but do avoid obesity. The annual check-up with his pediatrician or family doctor is a good time to show the doctor the breast enlargement and ask about it. A separate appointment can be made if one's check-up is not coming up soon. No "online products" help, but the salesmen love to sell their stuff.

See edocrinologist : This sounds like an endocrine problem that needs a good work up and then treatment depending on your needs and goals.  An endocrinologist or Urologist with experience in endocrine problems is your best bet.  You may need to go to Rome or Paris etc to find the specialist.

I believe: That gynecomastia is a transient, hard, localized, painful mass that occurs under the nipple in males. It is a benign condition. Teenagers can get localized pubertal gynecomastia. Just having generalized enlargement of the entire breast in males is related to obesity & is a cosmetic condition which is not gynecomastia.

Unlikely: Male breast cancer does occur but is rare while gynecomastia is not. Medications &amp; other medical issues should be explored as a cause. Surgery could remove the excess tissue &amp; be sent for pathological review if this troubles you.

Rare for Ca: Rare for male breast cancer, especially in field of previous gynecomastia.  One can have reappearance of the male tissue that was not completely removed and has regrown or a lipoma, representing a fatty deposit in the remaining breast tissue.  If questionable or enlarging a simple bx will resolve the problem.

desperate. 2 negative us and negative diagnostic mammogram. 36 male. enlarged right breast and areola. tender. pain and numbness from neck thru hand. saw doctor at breast center. he diagnosed gynecomastia and said bc is ruled out. any thoughts?

Can get another...: Can get another opinion, such as from a neurologist to see what might be causing the pain or numbness sensations in the neck and hand. A breast surgeon can give another opinion on the breast. Extra opinions sometimes are not covered by insurance. When symptoms or questions are not simple, paying for a second exam and opinion is a good idea.
