Propofol: They have protocols on how and how much Propofol to give. They also have protocols to address issues of breathing arrest. If you've had troubles with Propofol administration in the past or allergy to it, you will need to alert your doc prior to administration.

Signs & symptoms : Signs & symptoms drive medical decision making. This means knowledge of natural history of diseases & how disease effects a pt (pathology). If you have signs & symp of colon cancer, then your doctor will investigate that possibility. Just cause you think you have something doesn't mean you have it. Why are you so adamant about colon cancer? Tests for colon cancer are invasive & carry risks.

Colonoscopy: The best test to find colon cancer is colonoscopy, which is a fiber optic camera evaluation of the colon.  Blood tests such as CEA levels are not used to screen (i.e. Check) for colon cancer in asymptomatic patients.

colon and urology tests are clear. organs appear normal. doctors have no answers as to why sitting makes my abdomen hurt. urination is painful.?

Hernia?: Sitting is an activity that increases intra-abdominal pressures.  If you have a hernia, it would become more symptomatic the higher the pressure.

Iron def. anemia: Blood loss from the digestive tract is a common reason for iron deficiency anemia. Since blood loss from the digestive tract can be an intermittent recurrence, having negative stool cards does not rule out a source of blood loss from the digestive tract. Procedures to look at those portions of the digestive tract are often the only way to know with any certainty if the digestive tract is involved.

i had a blood test done at my doctor and everything was normal. he said this means i probably don't have colon cancer. could i still have colon cancer?

????: At age 20, it is unlikely you have colon cancer. It is not necessarily impossible, but why do you think you have colon cancer. Do you have anxiety issues? Do you have a family history of colon cancer? Have you been passing blood? This is too difficult question to answer in this setting.

: The chances of not having cancer are high in this circumstance- but there is a false negative and false positive for this test. So pl be guided by your doc

Polyp on colonoscopy: The answer to your question depends on the pathology report on the polyp.  Ask your doctor to discuss the pathology with you. Polyps can be everything from benign to precancerous to actual cancer. Then ask him his recommendations for followup.  It could be anything from active surveilance (repeat colonoscopy 3-5 years) to surgery.

been losing weight so seeing doctors.. the last one the gastro will run tests..said my stomach is gurgling ..had colon cancer 11 yrs ago.. can this be something other than stomach cancer? i pray i'm just nervous?

Understandable: Being nervous as a colon cancer survivor and in the presence of unexplained symptoms is absolutely normal. There are definitely many conditions other than cancer that can account for your symptoms. With your history and given unexplained weight loss, cancer in general remains high on the list and will have to be ruled out. Trust your docs and stay positive.

hello doctor .what is difference between divertuculum, divertucula and diverticulosis of colon.my test showed diverticulum caused by a faecolith,i tried reading online about it but confusing . changed diet, gastro doctor suggesting surgery thanks?

: Diverticulum is singular, diverticula plural. Diverticulosis is the condition of having colonic diverticula. It is diverticulitis when inflamed or infected. Fecaliths do not cause these conditions, but often are present. Whether or not surgery is needed depends on how well antibiotics work or continuing symptoms. If a gastroenterologist recommends surgery, probably it is necessary. Good luck.
