Let your prescibing: physician or psychiatrist know. Dose may need to be increased. Another SSRI may be beneficial. 
Augmentation may help. Take care.

Although: ^ depressed mood has been reported as a side effect - I wonder if  you are more aware of depressive symptoms now that anxious symptoms have reduced.

Avoid!: Over the counter supplements are not regulated by the FDA or even checked to see if they are any good.  Don't take a chance that there is something in them that will mess with your Citalopram. None have been proven in good studies to work anyway,  save your moola. Talk Therapy!: While you search for a better antidepressant, definitely get involved in supportive talk therapy. The losses you've faced and your grief will not be resolved by drugs alone - they may not even be necessary. You need to work through your feelings which may be fairly normal and healthy. But, un-dealt with, they can fester leading to worse symptoms. Be picky, this therapist is one you need to trust.

Let me be: Clear nothing is wrong with you because 40 mg of Celexa (citalopram) is not working for you.  If Celexa (citalopram) worked for everyone then we would just have that one medicine. It is not unusual to need to try several anti depressants or a couple together or to try medicine and therapy or therapy alone. Go back to see your doctor, explain it is not working for you. Ask about therapy too.  You can feel better. Okay !

Hopefully nothing: Generally, you should not feel any changes within the first two weeks of taking an ssri.  Sometimes people will get mild side effects like nausea, upset stomach, constipation/diarrhea, dry eyes/mouth.  Rarely, there may be sexual side effects.  Let you doctor know if any of these occur in a way that is intolerable.  After two weeks (wks 2-6), you should start to feel benefits.

I tell my: Patients that if this type of med works,it confirms the diagnosis of depression and to continue for at least a year.Otherwise,u feel better,u stop the med,and in a few weeks,your depressed again.

Therapy?: Have you yet tried any form of psychotherapy? Typically, the optimal combination of things to treat emotional issues such as depression is medication (which, on your best day, is supposed to take the edge off symptoms) but the real gruntwork takes place in psychotherapist's consulting room.

Caution if &gt;20wks: The literature on this medication, also known as celexa, (citalopram) cautions use if gestation &gt; 20 wks.  You must check with your psychiatrist and ob.
