Many: Usually this involves either an inflammatory issue (arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, synovitis) or an injury to the cartilage (meniscus tear or articular cartilage damage).  Of these, the most common are arthritis and meniscus tears.

: There are many possibilities and examining your knee would be needed to diagnose the problem. You may also need imaging studies like x-rays or MRI. The problem could be a small bone fracture, tendon or ligament issue, soft tissue swelling, etc. So, if this continues, you need to see a doctor for evaluation and treatment. You may need to see an orthopedic surgeon as well. Good luck!

Orthopedic specialis: If the discomfort is definitely arising in the knee and only occurs while in bed, there is a positional component to it. It may occur when leg muscles are completely relaxed and, at this point a cartilage, tendon or ligamental structure may become impinged. An orthopedic surgeon is best qualified to evaluate and advise you. A knee X-Ray or mri may be recommended in order to make a diagnosis.

Many things: This could be a benign growing pain, or it could be a more serious problem.  Growing pains tend to be at night, more in the middle of long bones, resolve with massage and tylenol/ibuprofen.  If your child has any associated daytime limp, persistent complaint, avoids activity, or any swelling or redness notable in the extremity, or fever then this needs immediate attention by your physician.

Knee pain: Several possibilities and this requires a good physical exam followed by imaging to make a probable diagnosis. I would suspect a patellar and/or tendon issue more than an intra-articular problem. See an orthopedist. It will probably only get worse if you try to ignore it.

To help your physician understand your specific pain, you want to write down your medical problems and medicines.  Spend some time thinking about what causes your pain, what makes it better and worse.  Record any other findings associated with your knee pain. (ie swelling, popping, giving way...)
