Breast milk is best.: If you had a baby before, what did they tolerate may help in determining what is more suitable for your infant. Infants tend to have loose stool at that age, so that should not worry you. It is important to burp baby well after feeds to reduce bowel gas pain. Breast feeding only is adequate at that age if possible. The baby is the best person to help you determine what his bowel would tolerate.

If he isn't : Eating and seems to have ear pain, i would take him to your pediatrician for an evaluation and an ear check. It is possible that he has an otitis media, although the pain could be from teething.

Worrisome : I would want to see &amp; evaluate such a child in the office. The sequence of events in normal development are a continuum that seems to have stopped in the posted description. Both the speech &amp; motor skills are a concern. I would take the kid in when space is available.
