Calcium deposits: Menigioams are typically non-cancerous tumors of the lining of the brain and spinal cord. The tumor cells arange themselves ina a concentria whorl pattern and get calcified over time. This is picked up on a ct scan or other tests as "calcified" menigioma by the appearance.

Meningioma: Unfortunately meningiomas do not just go away.  They may be difficult to see on MRI if small enough and if contrast is not given, etc.  Generally it is good if they can not see it as a lesion that has grown will be easier to spot on the recent MRI.

: Not clear if the interpretation decides that the area was not a meningioma, which is benign and very slow growing if present.  Would suggest you contact the radiologist to ask directly what is actually present.  Additional imaging may be an appropriate next step.

Radiographic lingo: Hyperostosis refers to a proliferation of the skull focally. Sometimes it is difficult to differentiate between hyperostosis and a calcified meningioma which is a brain tumor that is close to the skull. It is also important to keep in mind that a meningioma( which is usually a benign tumor) itself can irritate the adjacent skull and lead to hyperostosis.

Meningioma: Meningioma is not cancer, it can cause problem by putting pressure on the brain , meningiomas are removed surgically.

Versus a : Calcified meningioma? Its probably too small or atypical to distinguish. Second opinion from a neuroradiologist versus a neurosurgeon is suggested, versus repeating the study in 3-6 months.

: Meningiomas are very slowly growing and unlikely that a chronic small meningioma would provide a threat, even over years.  But would have follow-up images at intervals just to be fully assured.
