accidentally took ambien cr this morning. can't believe it. how do i handle a mistake like this safely? can i try to stay awake for work?

The best thing to do: is not to drive anywhere or to handle dangerous equipment until  sedation has worn off. These things can happen - just need to keep yourself safe  until you are more awake.

just took 1 mg lunesta (eszopiclone). i have no more lunesta (eszopiclone) but have 5mg of ambien. i am still awake can i take the 5mg of lunesta (eszopiclone)?

Sleeping Pills: Lunesta (eszopiclone) 1 mg is a starting low dose.  It sounds like its not strong enough for you.

Ambian 5 mg is also a starting low dose.  It goes up to 10 mg.

This answer comes an hour after you asked the question, so hopefully you're sound asleep! If not, its okay to take the 5 mg Ambian.  But recommend just taking one of those at an effective dose, not both for longer use.   Add  Ashwagandha 500 mg.

Maybe not as effect.: You may be becoming sensitized meaning it will not work as good.  You need to discuss with your doctor other options.

Please don't : Overdose yourself. If you are having this type of problem, encourage you to see a sleep specialist.  A polysomnogram may be recommended as well.

Stop: Your sedatives  the tolerance and rebound withdrawal/ insomnia hhave made them less than useless and a cause of the problem. However, your obvious tolerance necessitates a weaning process by an provider experienced in this.

See your Neurologist: It sounds like you may need a sleep study & further evaluation.  For instance if you have sleep apnea, you may be at risk for further cerebral vascular problems. Ambien (zolpidem) is probably safe but may be masking some other problem.

Ambien (zolpidem) plus Vicodin: Vicodin for pain plus Ambien (zolpidem) for sleep is not contraindicated, only possible drawback is sleeping extra hours, hence recommend half dose Ambien (zolpidem) while on vicodin.

Why: If you mean at the same time they defeat the purpose of each other. Red Bull and other energy drinks have caffeine which is a stimulant. They also have many other chemicals and are definitely not healthy. Lunesta (eszopiclone) and ambien are both sleeping medicstions
