Hemosiderin MRI: This may be consistent with a condition of the knee called pigmented villodular synovitis.  This is caused by inflammation of the lining of the knee joint (synovium) and resulting deposit of breakdown of blood products.  The cause is largely unknown.  The diagnosis of pigmented villonodular synovitis is confirmed by biopsy, and the treatment of choice is synovectomy.

Joint contractures : Of prenatal onset are called arthrogryposis. There are different etiologies (causes) of this, depending on the findings on physical exam. A fracture of the tibia in a newborn could be associated with one of the types of osteogenesis imperfecta. Certainly, evaluation by a geneticist is warranted,  as well as by a pediatric orthopedist & a pediatric neurologist, ideally before you take baby home.

Cyst can cause pain: A bone cyst in the distal femur is a common finding on x-ray of the knee.  It is possible that the cyst can cause pain and a small effusion.  The next step is to see a medical provider and have an MRI performed on the knee including the distal femur to evaluate the cyst and knee joint in more detail.

i  fractured my distal femur and tibia at the knee, i'm healed but i have pain on my outer knee along with a distorted look. what could this be?

Hard to say: There are a lot of possibilities.  An exam and x-ray would almost surely determine the cause.  If you had surgery, it could be a prominent screw.  Sometimes extra bone will form around a fracture that can appear as a lump that will usually remodel.  Consider being seen, .

Accepted Answer

There are many: types of "cystic" bone lesions and most do not represent true fluid-filled cysts.  Some types of these lesions are completely innocuous and require no treatment, others can be more serious.  So it is difficult to render an opinion without evaluating the images or at least knowing the specific description in the MRI report.

Accepted Answer

Varies : It varies in part on the type of scan you underwent and the timing of when your knee replace my was done as well.  A standard bone scan will light up with increased bone activity and would be concerning for loosening, infection, or fracture.  A white blood labeled scan that lights up whilst be concerning for infection.  I would discuss with your surgeon.

if a enchondroma is in the middle of bone oedema and the enchondroma is surrounded by oedema in the knee proximal tibia does this mean the enchondroma is aggressive and needs treatment to reduce oedema in and around it?

: In the absence of traumatic injury, this condition is clearly not "normal", and you should obtain a referral to a university trained neurologist at Mary Hitchcock hospital (Dartmouth) for an evaluation.

Any ovary issue?: Although it's uncommon to have menopause at your current age, have you had any ovarian surgery?

Low vitamin d can decrease the amount of calcium being absorbed.  It is the building block for bones.  How low is your vitamin d level?
