Protiens, Fat, Carbs: Your small intestine begins at your duodenum and this is where your body actually digests your foods. Enzymes from your liver and pancreas break food down into its basic particles.  Meats/proteins to amino acids, sugars to carbohydrates and fats to fatty acids.  The rest of your small bowel has miles of small bowel to digest.

Kind of: Polyps in the small bowel are different from those in the large intestine and are not related to most small bowel cancers.  Colon cancers, virtually all arise from polyps.

Surgery if true: Obstruction does not hit 31 years old suddenly unless you already have many abdominal surgeries in the past
number one reason for bowel obstruction for somebody who had surgery before are adhesions that need to be safely removed by surgery
number one reason for obstruction in what we called a virgin abdomen is tumor or hernia
i am sure if you think you have an obstruction you have a doctor.

when i was born my small intestine was knotted up and some was removed. was that volvulus?

Possibly: The correct term is malrotation. This causes a twist in the intestine which cuts off the blood supply. This necessitates removal of a portion of dead intestine. Another term used is volvulus.

i was told after some tests that i may have bacteria in my small intestine. is there something ican eat or take?

Not clear, more info: It is not clear what you were told. Bacteria is normally found in our intestines and is critical for digestion. This is known as the normal flora. There are some intestinal bacteria that are not normal but will need more info before any recommendations can be made.

Food avoidance: Primarily a bland diet avoiding greasy or fried foods. Milk and milk products should also be avoided.

: Prior small intestinal surgery does not increase the risk of problems from colonoscopy, and your doctor would not have recommended colonoscopy if that were a problem. If your intestinal surgery was for a problem like Crohn's disease, the colonoscopy might be needed to check for Crohn's in the large intestine. Follow your doctor's advice. Good luck.

Respect severe pain: If you have recurrent severe pain, consider reaching out to your surgeon or just being seen urgently in person.  It sounds like there is already an identified intestinal issue that needs to be addressed, but that doesn't mean it can't create serious complications before your planned surgical date.

Depends...: I assume you mean you're having an upper endoscopy & colonoscopy. If you are to receive conscious sedation in an outpatient setting, this is traditionally managed by your gastroenterologist. However, mac (monitored anesthesia care) does typically involve anesthesia services. Either way, you should discuss your sensitivities with the sedating provider.  Good luck with your tests--.
