Prior small intestinal surgery does not increase the risk of problems from colonoscopy, and your doctor would not have recommended colonoscopy if that were a problem. If your intestinal surgery was for a problem like Crohn's disease, the colonoscopy might be needed to check for Crohn's in the large intestine. Follow your doctor's advice. Good luck.
