Ask your doctor: Symptoms and concerns like these mandate a thorough evaluation by your doctor.  Only after such an evaluation, which may include labs and radiographic examinations, can he/she let you know what's going on and how best to help you.

i had a ct scan of head, the doc said everything is negitive just have a cyst its normal and nothing to worry about, what does that mean?  will i b ok

Cyst: Small cysts can be incidentally found in various locations of the brain, you don't say specifically where yours is, but it is likely of no concern.

why do doctors ask to do mri and ct scan and all i get is all normal. but it say nonspecific hypoattenuation within white matter t2 flair hyperintensi?

Artifact. : What it does show is a nonspecific finding that the radiologist cannot define exactly what the character is. Also it does not show any signs specific for a disease process, tumor ,cancer or other lesion. At best your primary care doctor maybe reorder another study in three months to one year later to see if there is any change if the reason you had in the first place persists.

can ibs cause cramping in the middle of the night on occasion? had colonoscopy about 2 yrs ago, recent ct scan. both normal. doc says ibs.

Cramping: also get a  EGD   And a pelvic exam by gynecologist to rule out other causes. IBD is a diagnosis of exclusion

hit my head on cabinet 2 weeks ago.. i got a neuro test done and everything came out normal.. im experiencing what seems to be a tension headache.. should i get a ct scan even though doctor says i dont need one done?

: intense headaches can be triggered  up to two weeks after incidental head trauma. By itself it is not a reason for a scan. If you had an evaluation and the doc found not suggestive findings a scan would not be indicated. From this history I don't think any 3rd party insurer would pay for it if you have it done.

my ct scan shows a 2.3 cm bronchogenic cyst located next to my esophagus about the 10th intercostal space (radiologist).  doc says ct normal.  really?

Benign conditon: It is not a "normal" CT, but they did comment on the presence of the bronchogenic cyst, that is how you know it is present.  These are rare, and can lead to coughing, weezing and pneumonia, or be asymptomatic.  The comment of normal probably menas that the remainder of the CT is unremarkable.  You can ask to have the radiologist amend his report.

Keep looking: Please keep investigating with your doctor for why you have these symptoms.  Additional blood tests may help.  Further imaging would be based on what the lab results are and what areas were already imaged.

Scared: Not sure what the scan or blood work showed, but talk to your doctor for peace of mind to ease your fear.

conflicting info one doc says small cell lung cancer cannot be ruled out by unremarkable chest ct scan. another doc says it can as sclc is exceptionally unlikely  with nothing significant on ct. any radiologists here have any views. thank you.

No conflict there: With any tumor, any solid cancer, using an imaging method such as plain x-ray, CT, US, or MRI always means there is a minimum size of tumor below  which you cannot see the tiny tumor. Realize that tumors likely start as 1 "invisible" cell, then 2 cells, then 4, then 8, then 16... eventually visible to some imaging machine. Nobody can say for sure he does not have a tumor that is too small to see.

doc says ibs. i have had mre small bowel, ct scan with vein contrast, colonoscopy, blood tests. all were normal. what are the chances i have crohns?

Accepted Answer

Very low: If all the above were normal including colonoscopy and colon biopsies then your chances of having crohn's is very slim. New evidence points to fructose and high fructose corn syrup as the culprit in ibs. Try to avoid the for few weeks and see.
