Pleuritis of the: left lung is probably the cause.  It could be also be pneumonia or  Tietze's syndrome among other causes. Otc antitussive cough medications and nsaid drugs would help. See your doctor . May need a chest x-ray.

i have had stomach upset for 4 days and it's getting worse. i have a bad pain on my left side under my rib cage. have a bad taste in my mouth to.

See your PCPC: The stomach flu is caused by a virus that attacks your gastrointestinal system. There is no cure for the stomach flu. The remedies are: good rest, plenty of fluids intake, plain food like crackers, cereal, toast and rice. Take NSAID over the counter and tincture of time. However, in your case it is prudent to see a doctor. Good luck.

Muscle or Ligaments: Most likely this can be due to a strain of muscles or ligaments.  However deeper structure in the back like the joints and discs can be contributory.

Maybe gallbladder?: There are many causes for right upper back pain - certainly muscle strain being the most common. But a less obvious cause could be your gallbladder. Gallbladder pain is often "referred" to the right shoulder, right upper back, or even the right armpit. There are more serious causes of upper back pain, so do consult your doctor about this problem - especially if you are having pain with breathing!

See a doctor.: If you have risk factors, '(smoking, family history, weight problems, male gender, hig blood pressure, diabetes and others) then need to get heart checked out.? Could be something less serious but first need to make sure it is not life threatening.

Coughing: No need to scan. Your muscles in the chest are spasming from so much trauma. Treat the cough. Stop the cigarettes and you will get better.

Flank or RUQ?: Gallstones or stomach ulcer can cause your symptoms  which may go undetected on routine blood tests.  So can many other conditions.  See your family doctor or internist and if pain getting worse, vomiting, unable to pass gas or stool, bleeding, fever then need to be seen at the er.
