: Hepatic histology refers to the tissue appearance of your liver. It is difficult to comment on what changes were seen if there is no comment about what was seen. Common changes include hepatitis, steatosis, or fatty changes of the liver, fibrosis or cirhossis and bile ductular proliferatons.  Fatty liver can occur both in alcoholic liver disease and non alcoholic liver disease.

Fibrosis = scarring: Inflammation of the liver, as almost anywhere else in the body, often heals with scarring. Lose enough functioning liver cells to scarring & you get cirrhosis. A fibrosis score is typically calculated during liver biopsy (& some fancier liver imagings) to calculate how much damage a chronically inflammed liver has sustained, & its risk of failing /decompensating. Then you need a liver transplant.

Variable: Hepatic encephalopathy (he) grade 2 usually infers lethargy or apathy; minimal disorientation for time or place; subtle personality change; inappropriate behavior.  However, many things can change that, making it worse or better.  Medications, such as lactulose or rifaximin, are used to treat he, and dietary indiscretion as well as infection or worsening liver function will make he worse.

Need more info: Why was this test done? All imaging results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Fatty liver.: Steatosis of liver is fatty infiltration of the liver. Liver cells become infiltrated with fat, fatty acid chains (triglycerides). Most common causes: alcoholism and obesity. Treatment is to correct the cause. If occurs in pregnancy, deliver baby as soon as safe.  An unusual form is 'reye's disease' where children are treated for viral disease with aspirin. No symptoms. Liver chems abnormal.

That is the definition of "patent."

Evaluation liver: Portal vein is the main blood flow to the liver it occluded sometime with thrombosis that is usually treated with blood thinners like Coumadin (warfarin) . Hepatic veins drains blood from liver to the heart , if they occlude the patient will develop jaundice and sometimes severe liver dysfunction . Really depends why you had the test for ?

Liver disease: It can suggest diffuse liver disease such as fatty liver and liver cirrhosis. Additional testing and possible biopsy is needed.
