Depends: It could be an irregular heart beat, such as atrial fibrillation. If so you need to get to a doctor of emergency room urgently.
Alternatively, you could be anemic, low blood counts, and that could do it.  If your thyroid is too active, that will cause a rapid heart beat also.
Please get to your doctor to have this checked out.

Depends: If you are truly hypothyroid, your pulse should be low. If are being replaced with thyroid hormone, and your pulse is fast, that could be an indication that you are being over replaced. You should discuss this with your docotor.

Monitor: The best way to diagnose an arrhythmia is to record it. If your child is old enough, a heart monitor can be prescribed by your pediatrician.  That's one of the first steps.  Eventually it may be reasonable to see a pediatric electrophysiologist.

Try to learn meditation and other calming techniques, cut out herbal substances, cough and cold medicines, nutritional supplements, see your doctor to be sure no direct heart problem and for treatment if the basics above don't help, your anxiety may be overdriving everything may see psych help.

Should be the same: The pulse should be the same on both sides of the neck, the arms, and the legs.  They should also be synchronized.

It is best for someone else to take it- it is difficult for us to measure two pulses on ourselves at the same time.

Not likely.: Heart attack occurs when there is a mismatch between amount of blood needed by heart muscle and  amount that can be supplied by heart blood vessels.  Technically yes, you can speed heart rate up enough to outstrip oxygen supply, but a normal stomach and thirst will probably limit  caffeine intake first.  With more potent vaso and cardio active meds or a damaged heart, it is entirely possible.

No problem: What you describe is common, especially if nap ends in vivid dream. It's harmless. But if you snore heavily at night and have obstructed breathing, and excessive daytime somnolence, that's a very different situation, suggestive of obstructive sleep apnea.

Possible : Very fast and for  some duration.
The heart if normal and in shape can do very well. If diseased, coronary obstructions, then fast rate and/ or high blood pressure can challenge the capacity.
