No: No because it doesnt take into account the whole rest of your body. See your doctor for a checkup.

It varies: It can be a mass, or unusual calcifications, or an unusual "infiltrate" on a chest x-ray.  In other words, it can have many different appearances.  A chest x-ray is a great tool, but it takes skill to interpret.  I do not recommend you try to interpret your films, but your doc can review it with you to give insights.

Antibiotics: You may still have a lung infection even if your chest xray is negative.  Take the antibiotic as prescribed by your doctor.  Once you are feeling better have them assess your lung health with a spirometry test.

had the flu 14 days ago, went to the lung dr. had a lung x-ray, dr. said my lungs look healthy, but i still cough allot of mucus (ps: have sinusitis).

Sinusitis: Upper respiratory infections, including sinusitis, may produce large amounts of inflammatory secretions resulting in sputum production and post-nasal drip. Try using saline rinses with a neti-pot, steroid nasal spray and a decongestant (pseudoephedrine, oxymetozaline, etc.).  Check with your pharmacist for otc products. They will be happy to help. i had covid pneumonia and pe last february. i had long covid symptoms. recently had chest x-ray and told my lungs were damaged. my right more than left. im having a ct scan to look further. does damaged lungs cause future health problems? thankyou?

: One possibility is fibrosis or scarring of the lung which reduces lung capacity. This may result in symptoms depending on the severity. Some of the associated symptoms include shortness of breath. If you have chest tightness and wheezing, bronchospasm is likely. A six minute walk test, cardiac evaluation and further physiologic testing may be indicated. Watch for signs of shortness of breath.

heartbeat feels like it skips beats or fluttering in chest. had ekg, chest x-ray and full blood panels all normal. pcp doesnt want to refer to cardiologist for holter monitor due to history of health anxiety. should i push to see one anyway?

: If you experience dizziness,fainting or have abnormal BP readings, please request a referral. Reduce stress, maintain a healthy diet and exercise. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and the above. Have you had COVID 19 infection? If so, a referral and further evaluation is recommended.

Your slow heart: rate is probably due to a high level of fitness and shouldn't cause any symptoms.  It would help to know under what circumstances you feel "lack of air".  This sensation could be related to any number of things including anxiety and intermittent wheezing.  Please follow up with your doctor so that s/he can address this issue with you.

what is the sensitivity of chest x-ray in diagnosing spontaneous pneumothorax? is this a deadly condition usually in a young, otherwise healthy man.

Good: On a 2 view chest x-ray it is rather easy to spot a spontaneous pneumothorax. The larger and more worrisome it is the easier it is to spot. Treatment is often just observation for small ones with or without supplemental oxygen. The ones that need evacuation, chest tubes or other aggressive treatments are quite dramatic. Those can be life threatening at any age.

why does right chest pain with mucus from chest and nasal don't want to go away. it comes with cough and a lot of mucus. already on flixotide diskus and avamys spray and a healthy 24 year old. is it inflammation/pollution,etc? chest x-ray is clear.

Chest  pain mucus: Chest mucus can result from an infection, allergy or other types of inflammation.  There are several possible answers to your concern requiring an in-person evaluation.  When did you have the chest x-ray before or after the symptoms, have things gotten worse since the x-ray?
