is it possible to have a fibrous tumor or fibrosis in milk duct? had a biopsy done on growth within milk duct. results came back negative for papilloma, atypical cells & malignancy. it showed benign fibrous tissue. is this a common finding?

: Fibrous changes is often because of scar formation so that is not something to be worried about especially knowing that what are more concerning were not there. It just means there was injury and the fibrous tissue was due to scarring secondary to the injury.

: In our body, some tissues die and grow back but some do not grow but slowly die. I assume your word "permanent" means indefinitely.

Pus cells: I always tell my pts that every test or a test result is a piece of puzzle. On its own it doesn't mean a lot ... "pus " cells can be simply representing  some inflammation  . Since cultures r negative one can assume that there is no bacterial infection in urine .. Hope it helps!

Accepted Answer

No and Yes: Radiation therapy slows or stops cell growth. The goal is of course to kill cancer cells and they don't grow and die.  However if you look up the four r's of radiation biology.  The last one is repoplulation in which during fractionated radiation cells increase growth to  repopulate.  Luckily we see this more often in the good cells but unfortunately in some cases resistant cancer cells.

Muscle growth: Many  men desire muscular development and this has been so probably for many thousands of years. As a physician I have seen this done consistently well and healthy through sensible weight training which stimulates muscle development through human growth factor, Testosterone and other natural endogenous substances. Avoid exogenous supplements (such as steroids and  probably Mechano ) Go natural!

: The situation that you describe is extremely unlikely. See a dermatologist for evaluation of this problem and the proper treatment and explanation.

Skin tags: True skin tags are benign growths and Don't morph into malignant growths as a rule. However, if you note any suspicious changes,it's best to have them examined by your Physician or dermatologist.

Yes: IGF-1 is manufacture and released from the liver.

Not really : There are many mechanisms by which Methotrexate modifies the function of the immune system. Inhibition of Folic Acid metabolism is probably only one of the many ways it works. I only prescribe Folic Acid to patients only if they are having side effects. Many patients don't need it and any mild side effects resolve over several months. In europe, most rheumatologists don't even use folic acid.
