Not sure: "tonsil cyst" isn't a medical term, so it is hard to know exactly what you are talking about.  Tonsil stones or "tonsilliths" are collections of food and infection which are whitish and are common.  They cause bad breath, and sometimes reflect chronic tonsillitis.

hello, my left tonsil has had issues for years. the appendage directly below it seems to fill up with mucous like a cyst, and i must drain it to relieve pressure and to swallow normally. there are also non-visible tonsil stones behind the tonsil.

Many ways!: Cysts can be formed anywhere in your jaw and often times between your teeth. A cyst can be caused in any number of ways. Sometimes by a tooth that never formed, perhaps trauma or may be developmental, was the cyst always there? Is it getting bigger?  So don't panic! speak with your dentist to discuss your specific situation.

Not to worry: The tonsils in the throat are lined with squamous epithelium (skin).  Sometimes the normal growth of this lining can invaginate and grow inwards causing a benign cyst.  If there is no redness around the cyst and if does not cause pain or enlarge, i would not worry about it.  The question is, is this really a cyst?  See an ENT doctor for reassurance.
