By staying healthy: Appendicitis is an unpredictable disease , mostly seen in young , contaminated water source, inflammation in the intestine causes lymph follicles to swell resulting blockage of lumen  that  will result appendicitis in children.

I am not: aware of any diet that can help or hurt your appendix.  Recent studies suggest that certain viral infections might increase your chances of developing acute appendicitis, but this just an association, not cause and effect.  And you really can't do much to prevent all viral infections.

Varies w/ length: But in any case, it will not be much. Probably under a pound average. Not an effective way to lose weight.

Healthy diet: There are no particular nutrients that the appendix is dependent on for good health. Eat a healthy diet with lots of fiber and lots of fluids. Hopefully you will be lucky and not get appendicitis! Good luck.

Cat scans have a : Better chance of picking up appendicitis than do ultrasound but you have to look at the big picture of what your symptoms are and if they are progressing. Generally speaking appendicitis is accompanied by loss of appetite, fever and constipation...but not always.

Probably : The appendix is not an essential organ -after removal your health should remain the same. The abnormalities described, in particular weight loss, can be alarm symptoms and probably need an evaluation by a doctor.  I am particularly concerned that you feel you look pale.  This could be a sign of blood loss.  Get checked out and hopefully everything will be fine!

hello, my abdomen itches on the right side sometimes, it is an internal itch, i cant scratch it. i am of healthy weight and have no other pain or problem, is it reason to worry? could it be liver? appendix? intestine? i am getting bit worried?

: Young adults notice bodily functions that they paid no attention to as kids. If you are wondering if something hurts, it doesn't. There will be true pain in your future. Don't waste the healthiest, most vibrant years of your life, worrying about imagined illness. The thing that will take you down is something you never considered, not what you've spent your best years worrying about.

It might: Sometimes adhesions form between segments of the bowel after this. It might or might not give trouble later in life.

can appendicits last for 11 days? i went to er, all tests positive, and even had an ultrasound image of my appendix. it is shown healthy and normal.

Other causes: If ultrasound performed properly and completely normal, usually not acute appendicitis. Other causes of similar symptoms include enteritis or inflammation of bowel, infection of right kidney, gall bladder disease, liver disease etc.
