Pulmonologist: Wheezing is a lower respiratory disease caused by at least 2 problems.  One is increased mucus production of the tracheo-bronchial tree and the other is spasm or increased activity of the bronchial musculature which narrows the airway.  When incoming air is inhaled, the sound made traversing this blocked lower airway is wheezing.  A pulmonologist or allergist can diagnose and treat this condition.

metopropol has on 2 separate   occasions caused me to start wheezing and tight feeling in chest/throat area.  what is in that pill that causes this allergic reaction?  both times symptoms start in 3 days go away in 3 days after go back to toprol 50mg?

: Metoprolol may worsen pre-existing asthma or chronic lung disease.  Not an allergy but you should not be taking.  Stop now and see your doctor for an alternative.

whenever i work out, even if its light intensity, i get really winded, chest pains, wheezing, throat pain and dizzy. it doesnt go away even though i stick with the same routine and intensity for multiple months. is this cause for concern?

i have sinuses, a lot of times i have post nasal drip. it causes phlegm or mucus in my throat. can this cause light and occasional wheezing?

: Yes, post-nasal drip is a common cause of bronchospasm and bronchospasm can cause wheezing and/or coughing. The post-nasal drip needs to be treated in order to prevent this bronchospasm. It can be treated with saline and/or steroid nasal sprays. See your doctor for this treatment. If this treatment is ineffective, an ENT evaluation may be needed for alternative treatments.
