Wrist & ankleS: If both sides are affected then it is caused by a generalized disorder like arthritis ( either osteoarthritis, rheumatoid, reactive or other like lupus ).  If it last only few seconds or minutes. It even could be an equivalent for angina ( heart disease). Coexisting carpal tunnel with tarsal tunnel syndrome would be rare.

Yes you have stiff: ankles because you did not warm up and stretch enough prior to heavy exercise.  Even at your age, warm up and stretching are vital to maximizing athletic performance.  Please do not forget about hydration as well, as dehydration can also play an important role in stiff and crampy muscles. i run about 6-10km 5 times a week and recently my right ankle is sensitive on the outside. it isn't swollen and i can walk on it but it bothers me enough to know it's there. could n tight calve muscle cause this? i have high arches as well. thank you

Repetitive trauma: It is good that you exercise. You may be overdoing it a bit. See if reducing your running helps. Once the ankle feels normal, you may gradually increase your activity, as tolerated.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine

: If I understand correctly you have a history of a bad sprain to your ankle. However you are experiencing muscle soreness and tightness to the calf muscle. First off a Cortizone injection to the ankle joint will not help this problem. It sounds the ankle joint is not the problem. You need to stretch and strengthen the calf muscle. A Physical Therapist can instruct you and help you with this
