Acne: If you are unsure what it is see your doctor, otherwise if it is acne see a doctor for prescription creams to apply.  Start using salicylic acid to was the acneic area on your buttocks when in the shower.  Avoid baths and hot tubs, lakes and oceans (oxymetazoline) until clear.

Infected skin cyst.: This could be an infected sebaceous cyst. You can apply warm compresses several times/day or sit in warm tub. However if it does not improve or you have fever with it, you should see you doctor to have it checked.

i have a boil (or big pimple) of about 2 cm on my buttocks for 2 weeks. since 2 days it is mildly painful, when i sit it worsens. now i see a thin line of about 1-2 cm striking out the boil, maybe i have scratched it. what to do to heal it?

: I would suggest that you see your dermatologist for eval and treatment of this lesion. Sounds like it might be infected, and if so, would require medical care with warm soaks and either a topical or oral antibiotic.

Probably no worries: Now that the area is drained it will probably heal on its own.  If the redness spreads or does not improve over several days or if you develop a fever - see your doctor

Infect Dis specialis: Has the  pus been cultured to make sure that the right abx had been used?  Do you work with contaminated objects often?   There is also a possibility that you may have an immune defect causing the recurrent boils.  Consult an infectious disease specialist first and perhaps an immunologist later   I assume that you bathe regularly and have reasonably good hygienes

Folliculitis: It is likely a local spread of a staph or strep species that is causing you to have an outbreak. Can try chlorhexadine soap / scrub (may have to ask pharmacist where to find it), and if not successful, see your dr / urgent care for antibiotic rx and more specific instruction on how to get rid of.

See a dermatologist: You will probably improve with a long-term course of low dose Doxycycline or minocycline. Meanwhile try using antiperspirant and/or benzoyl peroxide on the skin.

No: Up to 75% of cases of boils involve infection with staph aureus, either methicillin-susceptible (mssa) or methicillin-resistant (mrsa). Other less commonly involved organisms include gram-negative and anaerobic bacteria, candida species, and pseudomonas species.
