Endocrinologist: An endocrinologist is best qualified to answer your question and evaluate you. 2000 units of vit D may be  too much for you. An overactive parathyroid gland may be causing your elevated calcium levels.

my husband had a blood test to cheeck calcium levels 6 months ago it was low and told to use caltrate plus now dr said to stop cause it's to high why?

Get a consult: You don't treat a lab value. Reference ranges are set so that a few % of healthies fall outside. A true low serum calcium in an adult who appears healthy is uncommon (calculate ionized calcium, which is what matters, based on albumin), and possible hypoparathyroidism or renal calcium wasting should be worked up. I trust vitamin d levels have been checked. Endocrinology consult is in order.

is 10.4 calcium corrected to 10.3 high in a 26 year old woman? could it be caused by a tight tourniquet kept on for over a minute (as this is what happened when the blood was drawn)?

: This calcium level is a very small amount over the top normal for most labs. Usually, if a tourniquet is kept on too long, the labs can be off-especially the potassium level. So, if this calcium level is concerning, then the labs can be repeated to see if it is indeed an issue. Good luck!

High calcium: levels may mean that you are slightly dehydrated, or it may be real.  Your albumin is normal so it is not a factor in falsely low calcium levels.  At 10.5 it may be a normal variant (reference range 10.4).  I would have it checked again in 1 month to be sure.

Rule out...: There are many possibilities, but if the calcium is really high, you have a parathyroid adenoma until proved otherwise and this may be the real reason for your longstanding poor health. High Clcium: Check with your local lab normals. And ask team who ordered rd it they know H better. Scan no likely to show parathyroids.

Sounds bad: High calcium(if confirmed on 2 separate occasions) is usually a sign of serious illness in your person who has spinal bone(?Bone disease). She needs to see a pediatrician or an oncologist right away to find the cause. I hope it is not some sort of cancer causing it.
