This metabolism permits further processing of the food to give you additional nutrients. The bacteria release different organic acids based on the food and the species of bacteria. These acids are released as a gas and have distinctive odors.

Hemorrhoids: Maybe stool/mucus on internal hemorrhoids that is passed with gas.

Dietary changes: Certain foods cause bad odors when passing gas. Eating a diet heavy in red meat is one example. Try cutting out one food at a time from your normal diet, for a week or so, and if you have no improvement, add it back in and cut out another food for a week. Be cautious and see our doctor immediately if you have corresponding changes in your stool.

Stomach/ gallbladder: Could be related to hydration status or diet. Ulcers, gastroesophogeal reflux or gallstones/gallbladder problems can all act like this. Adding probiotics to diet May be beneficial, but a physical  by a Dr and obtaining  history of you/family would help. If stomach or gallbladder problems run in the family, it could be that. An ultrasound of the gallbladder and checking blood/ urine would help too.

: Flatulence (and its malodor) can many times be attributed to the diet. Flatulogenic foods are usually the culprit. Without knowing his diet it is hard to say if it is a contributing factor.A nutritionist may be helpful, and a gastroenterologist certainly will be.

GI upset...: Could be a range of things from pregnancy, food poisoning, bad acid reflex, constipation, or appendicitis/colitis. Are you able to hold any food down? With symptoms ongoing for the past week, I definitely recommend a health professional examining you.

Let me try to help: Flatus comming out compose of five differnt gases produce by certain bactria (nitrogen: 20–90%'hydrogen: 0–50%, carbon dioxide: 10–30%, oxygen: 0–10 , methane the more methane in it the more the smell like rotten eggs.
Try to take some yogurt that help balance the bacteria in the bowel and hopefully get rid of it

Not normal: You should see the Doctor who prescribed for your GERD. Your symptoms are concerning! A virus most likely but ODOR of your "burps" DEFINITELY abnormal!
