The : The only way your nasal saline rinse could be coming out of your ear is if you have a hole in your eardrum.  Many people have holes in their drums without having any symptoms, so this is a definite possibility.  If it's not from a hole in your ear drum, the fluid is most likely coming from your canal and can be caused by either retained water from a shower or swimming or a canal infection.  All of these conditions need to be diagnosed by an ear exam and then can be treated.  Your best bet is to contact your doctor for an exam.

what is the cause and treatment for clear fluid ear drainage?

CSF?: When i hear clear fluid from the ear, i worry about spinal fluid leaking through a hole in one's eardrum. If that is the case, this needs to be fixed surgically. Depending on location and size, it can be done through an ear surgery (transmastoid) or needs to be done through a craniotomy.

Garlic clove in ear: Peel the clove, put in water on stove, bring to boil and sim for 5-10 minutes till slightly soft. Let it cool, and insert in external ear canal, just barely in, so you can easily take it out after 30 min or so.

our son has tubes in his ears and he is having drainage about once every other month, the he has to use ear drops, what causes the drainage?

His doctor can tell.: In addition to the possiblility of recurring middle ear infections despite having tubes, the mucus membrane lining the middle ear space can secrete clear fluid; also, a small number of patients can have ear drainage due to having tubes. His ENT doctor can tell you which cause is most likely based on examining him.

the boil or cyst in my ear ruptured and it is still painful, i also think some of the drainage went in my ear.  can that be some cause for my pain?

No: if a boil or cyst ruptured,the pain will go away. Give it time.

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

: Not necessarily. The infection of middle ear would have to rupture the ear drum for a person to experience a discharge.

Headaches &amp; Ear Pain: Sometimes the occipital nerve such as the lesser or third occipital nerve can cause ear pain that is associated with headaches. Are the headaches in the back of your head and rarely go past the top of your head? Any issues with your neck? May need a med to calm down irritation to the occipital nerve (short course oral steroids, Toradol, or neuropathic meds).

Chronic ear infectio: If there is drainage there is probably a perforation of the ear drum due to a chronic ear infection.The ent surgeon who did the tonsillectomy should check the ear.Pain can be referred but drainage is not normal.

Must see your doctor: Need good oropharyngeal examination , need to find the fuse of enlarged lymph nodes , and hoarseness , and to make sure is not related to a malignant  disease. See your doctor for ENT referral.\.
