See a doctor: You need some type of evaluation--there could be a lot of causes and without a more detailed history, exam and studies no one can give you the answer.

No: Choking on water will not cause wet drowning. But possible to have dry drowning if you have difficultly swallowing and you air way closed on you because of a cup of water.

Everybody chokes: occasionally when drinking liquids--"Oops, it went down the wrong pipe!" but a daily occurrence is a little too often. It suggests a problem with the laryngeal muscles or vocal cords. Make sure you aren't inhaling at the same time you are drinking. If it continues happening this frequently, a visit to an ENT specialist is in order. Good wishes:)

Seizure: Choking can cause vasovagal syncope which may cause hypo perfusion of the brain and cause convulsion. You need to finish the work up. Talk to your neurologist.

Likely reflux: It is quite common for babies to bring some of what.S in their stomach back up their esophagus & occasionally into their mouth or nose. Their airway is protected by a sensitive mechanism which will clamp down to prevent material from entering the airway.This results in choking. I find 4m a common peak in this activity with improvement as they begin to sit up more or stand.

Diet and lifestyle : For my patients i advise the following: avoid, any of the following: acidic foods, dairy, chocalate, mint, caffeine, spicy foods. At least for the next couple of weeks. Sleep on a wedge pillow (chest above you stomach, but not so that your chin is to your chest). And avoid tight fitting clothes. One can also take the pill twice a day or a couple of weeks.

Throat pain: Throat discomfort lasting this long warrants a careful examination of your throat and neck. I feel an Otolaryngologist would be best to evaluate and advise you. Any appropriate testing will be done.

Excessive mucous: Do you have allergies? There are medications that help reduce mucous production. You can see a board certifies otolaryngologist for an evaluation.

No: You mean worry about aspiration, if he coughed it up and now breathing fine, no need to worry, if otherwise, having severe cough, changed colors, difficult breathing, please take him to ER or call EMS, wish you both wellness
