CPAP: It is not uncommon for the first  use of CPAP is not working well enough. Please call the doctor who is looking after your sleep problems and different approaches will be given such that you will finally get a good nights sleep.

: Laboratory evaluation can only be a valuated in the clinical setting in which it was drawn. The best person to evaluate that is the Doctor Who ordered the test. Having said that, it is not unusual for a menstruating woman to have slightly low iron levels. See your gynecologist if your menses are excessive. Good luck.

Provigil use: A sleep medicine specialist can prescribe Provigil or similar stimulants.  They are indicated for narcolepsy or other disorders associated with excessive sleepiness, such as sleep apnea.  Fatigue can also be helped with Provigil or a similar drug nuvigil.

hi,  i am a 41 year old male with osa and use the cpap but still have fatigue.  what do you recommend.  i've taken 40-50 mg of adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) ir daily but don't like the emotional effect.

Retitration: If you are compliant with the use of CPAP and still feel fatigued during the day, you may want to go back and see your sleep physician to get your CPAP pressure retitrated.  If you have been using the CPAP for couple of years, you may need your pressure readjusted.  This is especially true if you have gained significant amount of weight or have started on new medications.

Sleep apnea: You ask a tough question. It seems you are not responding well to CPAP and are not sleeping all that well.
I would start by going back soon to the pulmonologist and let him/her know what is not working well for you.

COVID 19: The CPAP machine should be used if you are suffering from sleep apnea. Bilevel devices can reported be used by people who have COVID 19 and need higher pressures. If you have COVID 19 and use your CPAP machine there is an increased risk of transmitting disease to others.

Check Fit: Your mask should be comfortable- you need to make sure you have the right sized mask for your face.  There are now masks that just fit in your nostrils, masksade of cloth and gel masks that mold to your face.  See your respiratory therapist or your sleep doctor for more assistance.
