No it does not.: Only 50% of people get the daily requirement of iron. I take 250mg of magnesium per day. This does not affect serum iron or its absorption!

Diuretics: Certain types of diuretics can cause potassium loss as well as certain diseases. You will have to ask your doctor about magnesium loss in the urine as it very uncommon. More common is a nutritional problem such as alcoholism in which magnesium is not present in the diet.

which nerve in body causes calf cramps and ankle cramps? im not having back pain. im taking daily magnesium and that seems to help my muscle cramps somewhat after taking it so not sure if its magnesium or a nerve problem

Not really one nerve: Leg cramps are common in people with and without medical disorders, which means having leg cramps is not specific enough to lead a person to a diagnosis. A person can get more leg cramps if there is:  muscle fatigue, physical inactivity, liver/kidney/thyroid disorder, diabetes, dietary imbalance, osteoarthritis, Parkinson disease, pregnancy, spinal stenosis, nerve damage or abnormality, etc,...

Likely filtered out: High dose magnesium can cause muscle weakness / fatigue / lethargy, but with good hydration, the kidneys will filter and excrete the excess over time. Use all medications / treatments according to dr's recommendations. Call poison center for specific advice and recommendations if concerned.

Cramps : Are also caused by lack of potassium,  calcium, and dehydration.  Parasites seem like an unlikely answer.

Low K: I suspect you are losing potassium via kidney in your urine.  No comment on diarrhea so unlikely GI source. Could be secondary to Diamox.  Have your doctors get 24 hr urine collections and make decisions

Not necessary. : Prozac (fluoxetine) and other ssris known to alter sodium level but not known for decreasing megansium. If u suspect low megansium then definitely talk to your pcp.

Mg tablets: Doses vary bewtween 300-600 mg daily as a minimum dose.

Yes: Unless you have a medical condition, magnesium is a safe supplement to take.  Literature suggests it is a calming agent.
