'Perfect' push-up : You could just widen your arms( working more chest and less triceps) and do more reps at each workout... You could purchase ( 2)'perfect push-up ' discs ( inexpensive )which you 'turn out' and 'turn in' as you repeat each standard push-up . I have these and they really do work. Best of Luck!

Quantity of Push Ups: As a podiatrist, I emphasize a 3 time a week gradual progressive strengthening program for the feet, ankles, and lower extremity. I assume that this would apply to do pushups. We need the recovery time. Never push through pain, as you really want to get to fatigue, then stop. This way you will have gained some, and can continue to progress. Dr Rich Blake
