Yes: If u sprained your ankle ligament(s)it depends on the severity of the sprain. Generally an acute more severe ankle sprain can be tx. In a cam walker for 7-10 days followed by a period of mobilization/bracing and therapy. Severe( grade3.)ankle sprains may take 4-6 wks. To heal. See your ors.

i have a bone chip fracture right ankle with history of ligament damage..i have to see an ortho surgeon. what should i expect in regards to treatment?

It all depends....: Did this just happen ? If it's an old injury and it was just found on an x-ray then nothing may have to be done. If this is a new injury, a lot depends on your exam and your x-rays, your age, activity level, medical problems (like diabetes, etc). If its a stable injury a protective boot or walking cast for a few weeks, if it's unstable and/or the ankle structure is disrupted you may need surgery.

can i take alleve as anti-inflammatory for my foot ligament strain plus tylenol for pain at same time? i also have diclophenac script i have on hand in case of back pain 75mg and could take that if you think that is better. can i still take tylenol?

Meds: yes you can take Tylenol (acetaminophen) along with a anti-inflammatory such as diclofenac or Aleve. Just know that the Aleve or diclofenac can cause gastrointestinal upset.

been in moonboot and crutches for 7 weeks due to torn ligaments. ankle still swollen and inflamed, can't bear any weight. is this normal?

Yikes.: This is not normal. You need to have a new set of eyes take a look at your ankle. The inflammation part is a warning that something is amiss, especially after 7 weeks.
