Ovarian cyst: Small ovarian cysts are usually asymptomatic unless  they rupture.  Larger cysts cause pain or bloating.  So, your question is not able to be answered.

Yes: Every month when a woman ovulates there will be a cyst on one of her ovaries at least 2 centimeters in diameter.  That cyst will rupture to release the egg.  Most women do not know this has happened, but some women will have cramps or pain around the time of ovulation.  Sometimes the cyst will fill with blood and be very painfull, usually it resolves on its own - but some will require surgery.

Depends: Normally if you had an ovarian cyst rupture then the pain should improve over the next several days.  If the pain persists or worsens and it is after normal office hours then you should consider going to the ER.  Hope this helps.

Give It 24 Hours: Well, look at it this way: when your ovarian cyst ruptured they did an ultrasound, right? and that must have included both ovaries, right? and it seems you survived, right? so, it's kinda interesting they didn't see another cyst on the right side--so it must be something else; so let's just say if it doesn't go away or gets worse over 24 hours, go to ER (maybe it's a kidney stone) .Better? Hooray!

Probably not: Ovarian cysts and pcos are usually distinct and different clinical conditions; the confusion comes form the word 'cyst' which is i only a very general term in medicine. Weight is not at all a diagnostic criterion in pcos (or ovarian cysts for that matter.).

Pelvic pain: Pelvic pain is complex as there are several organs in the pelvis. The ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, bladder, appendix, intestines, colon and rectum can all be the source. Pelvic pain requires and examination to help organize the evaluation. Right sided pain could be for concerning for appendicitis

Such a cyst could rupture from continued enlargement (like over-filling a water balloon) or from blunt trauma, which would likely cause great abdominal pain with internal bleeding, plus an ambulance ride to the emergency room.

Ovarian cysts: Surprisingly, most of the time when an ovarin cyst ruptures they is little consequence. There can be 1 or 2 days of discomfort. Sometimes, however, a cyst may bleed internally. Occasionally, i will need to operative on a patient with a bleeding cyst to relieve pain or stop the bleeding.
