Most dependable: There was a device which was much easier to do but has since been taken off the market due to inconsistent dosing. Thus we are left with mainly EpiPen (epinephrine) at least for now.

Tricky issue.: It is a good thing you asked. Alprazolam  (a benzodiazepine) is reported to be an ingredient of “Alpranax “which is sold in many countries.   That is a prescription anti-anxiety medication. However, there is another product called “Alpranax” which is being labeled as a dietary supplement that contains:  B-Complex Vitamins, L-Theanine, Valerian, GABA &amp; Ashwagandha, etc.  This is very misleading!!!!

Alters GI flora: Likely because doxycycline alters gastrointestinal Flora and can cause Clostridium difficile infection and elders can be more at risk

A few possibilities: Medication doses are guidelines with exceptions. Some kids have more symptoms and benefit from larger doses. Other kids weigh more and need bigger doses. Certain medications lower the effectiveness of other meds, so the other meds need to be given at higher doses. Singulair (montelukast) for little kids is 4mg and for big kids is 5mg (doses are similar), so maybe a doctor feels the difference is not important.

Epi Pen: We prescribe epipens (epinephrine) for patients to carry if we think the patients are at risk of having life-threatening allergic reactions.  There are three areas of your body that , if they are involved in the reaction, are the most dangerous: your throat (closing), your chest (tightening like asthma) and your vascular system (you can go into shock, with low blood pressure). With those, you need an epi pen.

my doctor prescribe eliquis.i began to bruise for no reason soon after.the doctor checked all clotting factors/times, everything is in the normal range.he didnt adjust dose after the results. yet i still bruise for no reason.should i be worried?

Bruise : If the bruise is minimal I would not worry but if they become worse you need to see your doctor again

my tsh level showing 9.1 . my doc did an anti tpo check value is normal (26) . also did thyroid scan , it is also normal . doctor didn't prescribe any medicine. bit confused what could be reason for high tsh

See endocrinologist: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, Your TSH level indicates thyroid insufficiency and you may wish to consult an endocrinologist. At a minimum you need to get free T4 test done.
