Finger tingling: I will comment on the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, or cts.  Cts is when the median nerve becomes "pinched" within the carpal tunnel, which is in the wrist.  Patients can get tingling, numbness and/or pain on the palm side of the hand, specifically in the thumb, index and middle fingers.  When conservative treatment fails, surgery is recommended to fix the entrapment.

Numbness: The symptoms of carpal tunnel are those related to compression of the median nerve as it passes through the carpal tunnel. The carpal tunnel is the passageway in the wrist to the hands, which the median nerve iruns through. Symptoms can include numbness in the palmer aspect of the thumb, pointer, middle, and half the ring finger. Additional symptoms can include pins and needles, and pain.

It : It is very difficult to say based upon a history such as given here.

Lets assume that xrays were taken ( that is a test) and xrays showed an abnormal pattern in the wrist bones that led the specialist to recommend surgery. Then there may be a benfit to srigery but there are so many different scenarios for current or prevuiuos wrsit ligmant injury it is impossible to say based upon the information given here.

The wrist is complex and trauma even remote or new can injure many structures. Some people also develop  wrist problems independent of trauma even if the pattern on the xray looks as though there was a ligament injury

xray views of the uninvolved wrist without any injury history may reveal that the same exact pattern of wrist bone alignment exists just because it does and that no injury lilkely caused it.
This is not a perfect black or white scenario ( xrays of the opposite wrist) but it can help to understand what is considered to be abnormal and why and may help define what to do next

rather than just say no to everything, especially since there is pain and possobly dysfunction  someone in these type of circumstances should ask more specific questions of the current treating doctor or see another for consultation  but make sure  records including previous xrays at the time of injury, previous records and new records are all available at the time of that new consultation or return visit so that  questions have a better chance of being answered

wrist and hands have more tendons than any other part of the body, it can cause pain, swelling and painfull movements at wrist
carpal tunnel can cuasr pain in wrist and hand and numbness and tingling in first three fingers and pain will spread to hand and wrist.

Yes: If the wrist has arthritis or the skin near the wrist is inflamed you would expect carpal tunnel syndrome much more commonly than normal. The medical treatment involves controlling the psoriatic arthritis systemically, injecting the wrist with a corticosteroid if necessary, and splitting the wrist. Surgery would be a last resort but only if medical treatment fails..

The : The short answer is no the tendonitis unlikley "caused" carpal tunnel. But the  longer answer includes the idea that the same factors that led to tendinitis in your wrist could in fact lead to carpal tunnel.  It may also be that you did not have tendonitis in your wrist but  had some early pain in your wrist from the very same carpal tunnel. Carpal tunnel can present initially as wrist pain even without tingling or numbness in fingers.  It is characterized at times by aching pain on the palm or volar side of the wrist  near the wrist creases.  Usually more of a dull throb or ache rather than a sharp pain.

Regardless of the route or cause you should seek medical attention in your own area from your own doctor if you feel you might have carpal tunnel.

Sx are similar!: You need a clinicians expertise to differentiate arthritis, tendinitis, and bursitis of the shoulder.If they co-exist, inflammation is likely.If you are young, arthritis of the shoulder would be inflammatory, most likely. If all three exist, arthritis most likely.However, all three can be degenerative, caused by injury, overuse, spurs (impingement syndrome, etc. An exam and x-rays, and a few labs!
