Same but different : Carpal tunnel causes numbness to the thumb, index, and long fingers. It usually is not painful. Arthrits is pain at a joint level and is descriped as painful and stiff with use. Finally, tendonitis can involve a joint, but usually is more painful in the muscles and tendons around the joint. It can also worsen with overuse as well.
