Depends on location: If a minor lip gland, relatively simple excision and minimal post- operative trouble. If sublingual or parotid, removal is more complex. Speak to your dentist about treatment options if the blockage doesn't clear within two weeks on its own.

Blast from the past: I haven't heard the term  tree hole disease in a while.  You are most probably referring to the encephalitis spread by the tree hole mosquito.  This disease is the la crossevirus, a cause of california encephalitis.  It causes very impressive encephalitis in children which can present like poliomyelitis but usually resolves without residuae. Headaches 30 years later are not due to this.
