Metyrapone: It is generally recommended to give metyrapone 30mg/kg body weight or maximum 2 gms for a person &lt;70Kg weight at around mid-night and then perform blood test in the morning. You are getting the maximum dose 3 gms that is generally given to people who weigh &gt;70 kg. Please discuss it with your doctor.

please i had unprotected sex with my ex gf on 31st of march and the 15th of may i got test for hiv using blood draw from my vein on the 20th of may 16th of june and 20th of august using the determine hiv 1/2 antibody test it was negative am i safe?

: These results conclusively prove you did not catch HIV on 31 March.

for obgyn: do you generaly test for mrsa in a pre natal blood screening that is drawn on the first visit?

Generally no: A patient may be tested for MRSA if there is a previous history or current suspicious infection.  It is not a routine prenatal test anytime during the pregnancy  discuss this with your OB clinician.

SHOULD BE FINE: Unless it was a large quantity of alcohol it should be fine. Binge alcohol use will raise liver studies specificly GGT level.  Push fluids water and coconut water

Yes: No lab would be injecting anything into you in the same needle from which they are drawing blood.

: Yes, lab usually keeps blood sample for 3 days.

can an oral glucose tolerance test be used to diagnose diabetes like a blood draw will if you're not pregnant?

Yes: However there are several different criteria for diagnosing diabetes, depending upon whether you're using GTT data, fasting glucoses, post-prandial glucoses or hba1c's. Check w/ your doctor. In reality, the exact diagnosis is an arbitrary distinction made upon a continuous line of time and data.

HbA1c: Can detect your average glucose over the past three mos., although it is weighted toward the most recent time period.

i took a oraquick test at 94 days after low risk exposure of a faulty blood draw and needle stick. i took a total of 4 oraquicks @ 40,61,88,94 days. all were negative. also 4th gen at 3 weeks negative. am i clear?

: Yes. You have been over tested. No more tests needed. It sounds like there was no risk of HIV anyway. Nobody ever gets HIV from having blood drawn.

Yes: Cytogenetic examination is one way of making the diagnosis.
