Wet wax: What you are feeling is wax that is soft and melted by your body heat.   You can use peroxide in your ear every 3 to 4 days.  Let it bubble for 3 to 5 mins.
You may use a hair dryer to dry the ear canal after you let it drain out.  Make sure the hair dryer is at a low setting and not too hot to burn the ear drum.

Likely not: If you do not have ear pain - have not had a recent cold - do not have pain when you wiggle the outside of your ear - then you likely do not have an ear infection. Sometimes water can get trapped behind a bit of wax and finally drain as a clear discharge.

Perforation: You can try a hair dryer set on low heat and power to gently blow air to dry the canal. Do not put anything that has alcohol in an ear with a perforation.  It will hurt.

Water out of ear: It could be water that got into the ear from showering.  Sometimes water gets stuck behind ear wax, and doesn't drain out until you're lying down and get in the right position.  If there's pain or fever, that's more indicative of infection.

Hydrogen peroxide : May use Debrox or similar wax dissolving ear drops 2xa day for 3 days. Then use lukewarm water with about 20cc of hydrogen peroxide. This will loosen any tough wax.You may use a ball syringe and flush .if it is difficult go to the doctor

What drops ?: Usually symptoms suggest Eustachian tube blockage which requires nasal decongestant drops eg iliadin. Suggest GP if not settling for otoscopy to exclude outer ear canal conditions.
