Conjunctivitis: Common with upper repiratory infections and ear infections. Apply warm soaks. If white of eye becomes red will need eye drops.

Swelling, : Swelling, pain, and drainage suggest an inflammatory or infectious process that is related to your periorbital soft tissues/conjunctiva or adjacent sinuses. You should have this looked at by your ophthomologist or referred to an ENT if felt related to a sinus origin.

A few possibilities: This could be due to allergies, dry eyes, or eye infections.  All can start or affect 1 eye first.  The treatments are very different. For allergies, zaditor (ketotifen) is a good otc eye medicine.  For dry eyes, lubricating tears are necessary.  For infection, usually of the eyelids, start with eyelid warm compress and diluted baby shampoo scrubs.  You should have a baseline exam with your eye doctor.

blisters of the skin: Under the eye could be a serious viral infection.  I recommend that you be seen within 24-48 hours from when they started.

Maybe/not: Eye allergies to wind borne allergens can trigger some discharge, but it is usually clear &amp; the eyes itch. What you describe may have started with allergic drainage but now sounds more like an infectious process. It can be either viral or bacterial &amp; may need specific treatment. I would contact your doc &amp; discuss the symptoms.

my mom has black marks and blisters and pus and swelling around her face to the point where her eye is swollen shut and its very red and inflamed. i know she needs a doctor but she is extremely resistant. ive been using antiseptic cream for now. ?

She needs evaluation: I’m sure you are concerned about her health and I agree with you. It sounds like she has a soft tissue infection (cellulitis) for which she needs antibiotics ASAP, possibly IV antibiotics. Take her to the nearest emergency room. Even during this time, ER physicians are treating all kinds of conditions besides covid 19. They will be able to care for her safely.

Possibly: You need to get an ophthalmologic evaluation tomorrow to evaluate a possible herpes infection of the eye.  This type of infection, without treatment,  can lead to a permanent reduction of vision.
