Mouth breather?: I would suspect you sleep with your mouth open.  when we sleep we all produce less saliva but mouth breathing "drys out" the mouth more.  If you snore, I suspect you may have sleep apnea and you are breathing with mouth open to try to keep your airway open (natural).  If you are chronically fatigued I would see your doctor and ask about getting a sleep study.  you could feel much better

Mouth breathing: While sleeping the salivary glands shut down causing dry mouth. Breathing through your mouth can cause an even dryer mouth. If you are conjested, then mouth breathing will increase.

Mouth-breathing?: You likely have nasal obstruction as well and mouth-breathing while asleep can give you dry mouth.  Consult your doctor to see if you have nasal problem and then observe whether reducing the nasal obstruction leads to improvement in your dry mouth.  Dry mouth may also be caused by inflamed salivary glands presumably from an autoimmune process.

what can i do about suspected sleep apnea w/o insurance? i wake up with dry mouth and headaches and lethargy. but because i don't have insurance, hospital won't do sleep study unless i pay the cost up front, which is  something i don't have the funds?

Sleep evaluation : Avoid bright light, loud sound before bedtime. Drink warm milk and shower pre bedtime. Avoid smoke, dust, mold and rinse nasal passages with saline. No fluids two hours pre bedtime.

Maybe: You may have swollen adenoids and an over the counter nasal steroid spray may be tried for two to six weeks. 
Nasal saline rinse the nostrils prior to use and during the day for congestion.

29/m. i have b/l inf. turbinate mild hypertrophy on ct-pns; sinuses are clear. i use fexofenadine/pseudoephedrine & steroid n/spray daily, sleeps comfortably but still wake up with dry mouth, brain fog & excessive yawning all day. is it sleep apnea?

Water ; Exam: Only to a certain extent, waking up with a dry feeling in mouth is normal as we do not get hydrated during sleep. A glass of water before  bedtime may help. However, waking up with a very dry mouth may be from mouth-breathing during sleep. You may be unknowingly suffering from a lack of airway or sleep apnea. As this requires exam by professionals, ask your dentist and doctor about this asap.
