took a vivitrol shot 4 days ago. why do i still feel dizzy? are there other side effects? is this an experimental drug? took 5 cc.

Side effect: Vivitrol is a long acting injection and its effect can last for 14 days and than the concentration in blood start declining
and dizziness is one of the side effect.Discuss with your doctor and be careful and dont drive if you are dizzy.

Find another Dr: If Suboxone was helpful for you try to find another prescribing provider in your area, 
you can use the Suboxone website or

Vivitrol is another option however still would be helpful to find an addiction specialist to help you.

Depends on your Dr.: Many doctors (myself included) have many concerns about the use of benzodiazepines in general, and Xanax (alprazolam) in particular (much higher potential for abuse) in people in recovery from opiate dependency, and particularly those who are being treated with Suboxone or methadone.  However, there are no drug interactions, and Vivitrol does not block the effects of benzodiazepines.  Talk to provider.

More Suboxone?: It sounds like you might benefit from taking a higher dose of suboxone, but do not adjust your dose without first and always discussing with your prescribing physician. If your cravings for drugs were less on more suboxone, you may need an increase. Suboxone is not a cure. You probably need and could benefit from regular attendance at support group meetings like na. Your not ready for vivitrol.

Many possibilities: Why vivitrol to begin with?  Either hx of drugs or alcohol both if which affect the liver as does vivitrol or by vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine). Now depending on your past history I assume you have been checked for hepatitis. Many reasons for irritated liver enzymes. I am sure your doctor is monitoring

Up to 1 month: Vivitrol or long acting injectable naltrexone, which is used for alcohol dependence or opioid dependence, is a formulation that lasts 1 month.  Unfortunately, those side effects may last from 1 week to up to one month, the duration of the medication.
