Rare: High dose vitamins usually not good for anything except for seller.  Recent very large study showed 8% reduction in all cancers in group who took one multivitamin a day.  Large doses of vit e, d, a etc may be dangerous and in certain diseases even a regular multivite is contraindicated.

Not a treatment: Many patients who are ill and hospitalized with COVID 19, may have Vit D deficiency. 
The dose of Vit D depends on your age and requirements, and baseline level. In general at your age 1000 IU supplements daily and a healthy diet may be sufficient.
