Yes and no: If the stains are very light, then simple bleaching can improve, but not completly get rid of the problem.
If the stains are really dark and noticible, then you need some kind of veneer to cover them.

Stress and genetics are also major factors.  Try a diff. Toothpaste with less flavorings, whitening and tartar control agents.  Also remove and mouth rinses that may have alcohol in them.   Work with your dentist to find the cause.
