sle patient. diangosis with pleurisy and pericarditis. very high crp and sed rate but is now normal.  if inflammation is norm why am i still having symptoms?

Recovery time: The CRP and ESR are just general markers for inflammation and may not reflect local inflammation.  In addition, even if the inflammation has stopped, the damaged tissue needs time to heal.

if a person has overlap myeloproliferative-myelodysplastic disorder which is causing an elevated wbc and a very high (and increasingly high) crp, could antibiotics bring down the crp even if there is no infection?

No: CRP is rather a nonspecific marker for inflammation and other disorders as blood diseases, myeloproliferative disorder is one of those diseases. Antibiotics won't help, treating the original problem is the answer, elevated CRP isn't the problem, wish you all the best

You need to see: a rheumatologist or a family physician with good knowledge in autoimmune and connective tissue diseases.  These results do not confirm anything, and they are at best nonspecific. Tachycardia: Heart rates over 120 would not be simple sinus tachycardia and do require cardiology evaluation and treatment. Heart rates consistently over 90 at rest are abnormal and require evaluation to find a cause( hyperthyroidism, fever, medications, etc).

Elevated CRP: Increased C-reactive protein (CRP) is a lot like fever:  it indicates inflammation in the body, but innumerable medical conditions can cause it. In-person medical care will be necessary to sort it out, which probably will include advice to take your temperature on a regular basis, careful history of symptoms you may have, physical exam, and additional blood tests. Discuss with your doctor.

How do you FEEL?: Many people run a high CRP for no reason. It may be genetic, and hopefully you know that the reference ranges are set so that several % of healthy folks fall outside. As a lab specialist, I don't even think folks should be screened -- but in today's medicine, physicians may need to "cover their butts" with this kind of unnecessary testing.

Complement tests: The complement tests and c reactive protein test you mention are all nonspecific markers of inflammation. Many different conditions may cause elevations of these.   So they can be due to autoimmune conditions, inflammation from cancer or numerous other disease states. It is also common for complement activation to be associated with low levels of c 4, due to consumption of it.
