i would like to get my bellybutton pierced today, but we are going on a cruise on sunday. will i be able to swim in the ocean and use the hot tubs?

Yes: Just keep the area clean and watch for swelling.

i was in cozumel, mexico swimming in the ocean when i was cut on the leg by a kayak. i walked to their bathroom where i used soap and water and cleaned the wound twice, once on the cruise i used antiseptic wipe. can i still get flesh eating infection?

: Chances are very slim since you treated the wound immediately. Always keep an eye  on      area for inflammation and you would know by now if infection occurred.

what to do if i have vertigo and plan to go out pn a day/ or night cruise. appx a 6-8 hour sail. what precautions do i need to take?

Some approaches: Either OTC meclizine or dramamine (dimenhydrinate) might help, but both cause drowsiness.  A scopolamine patch has been helpful in some.   There are bracelet-like devices with buttons that press on wrists, which many swear to.

First you need to make sure what you describe as vertigo, really is vertigo(I'm not saying that it isn't). Vertigo: Vertigo and imbalance treatments are available.  Some are over the counter, others are prescription based.  Some could in theory impact your parkinsons symptoms so definitely worthwhile speaking to your physician about which ones would be best.

hello. i have vertigo and headed on a cruise. i wanted to know if i would be ok taking a half of pill of by mecilizine that i have for this. i suffer from motion sickness. thanks.  ?

Motion sickness: This isn't something you can safely or effectively sort out on a forum like this. Speak with your personal physician, ideally whoever prescribed your meclizine. Also ask about the scopalomine patch (Transderm Scop), which is very effective for many people. Also, as you might expect, cruise ship doctors also are highly experience in this area. Cruise &amp; dizzy: You MAY have picked up a bug on the cruise, POSSIBLY an inner ear infection.  Please see your doctor who will find out and treat accordingly.  Peace and good health.

Salt Water: wouldn't hurt but UNFORTUNATELY the Ocean contains more than just salt water! Usually if there is no infection/discharge you can bathe after a week-10 days

Fear: Psychological terms are hydrophobia & aquaphobia. Dynamics could involve past scary experiences involving water in open spaces or accident in areas where there was water, such as near drowning.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Be sure to have an appropriate sized life jacket.
(by the way, i've been a camp doc over at camp seagull for years.)
motion sickness in that age would be very unusual.
