i have a 4 month old and he has visible scalp veins on both sides of his head they arent really noticeable unless he is crying is this normal or a concern also he is mixed race (black and white) he is smiling and giggling like a normal baby also?

: I consider this  normal variation. As the kid gets older the skin will thicken and the veins become less prominent. We actually use these head veins as IV access points whin infants with tiny veins need IVs inserted for treatment.

Probably normal.: Forehead and facial veins usually enlarge when bending over or straining or smiling.  They usually do not bulge when lying down, and, in fact, usually get smaller. The reasons for the change in size of the veins are many including changes in intrathoracic and intra abdominal pressures, levels of hydration, and positions of the body. Most likely what you experience is normal.

See somebody: Who is into veins and be seen. Mostly this is not a disease but a cosmetical nuisance.Can be removed or closed by injection.

Positional change.: The veins in the face just as the veins in the rest of the body change in size depending on changes in position as well as changes in levels of hydration and changes in pressure in the chest and abdominal cavity. In the face, the veins decrease with standing and increase with lying down.  Straining or laughing increase the the pressure in the chest which can increase the size of the facial veins.

i have a vein on the left side of my forehead that is visible, and sometimes it pulsates. it is close to my skin and i can feel it. is this normal?

Yes: This is fairly common. I think it's probably from little communications from the nearby temporal artery. If you feel well, don't be concerned about it.

Not to worry: This may be age related.
They do not pose a health risk.
If they are of concern consult a dermatologist for possible treatment.

Unique to you!: The appearance of prominent veins around the face is largely related to your anatomy. They are more apparent in thin folks and frequent exercises. I suspect when you smile  the contracting muscles alter the venous blood flow/pressure and the bulging is more apparent. This is pretty common. Most everyone has come to accept this is part of unique you...maybe you can, too. Surgery sometimes an option

Usual its ok: if these are new and very dark they can be of concern. If they are light blue and have always been there probably ok..

i am not sure if they have been there the whole time, but i noticed them recently.
is it anything to worry about (m,14)?

: Probably nothing is wrong. Puberty and sexual maturity can make veins more prominent, especially in males.

: Veins are not pulsatile. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, and physical examination. If it is a concern it would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!
